Wrestling...

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't updated lately. As you know, the joyous holiday season is upon us, and well, I've been doing a lot of cooking :D Suzie and I (along with Frank rolling out the dough) made TWO pumpkin pies from scratch, using acorn squash. Mmmm, delicious! I made mine with zabfalatok crust (a wheat germ cookie similar to graham cracker, but better in my opinion) and cream cheese. Suzie made a completely traditional pie with a traditional crust, and the traditional yumminess that goes along with that.

Thanksgiving with the Gonzos
Also, Friday was our 5 year wedding anniversary. We went to a really yummy Chinese food place (best salmon I've had in a long time) and then went to McDonald's to get McFlurries, mmmmmm.
Here is a video to encapsulate our cheesey, funny, awesome relationship.

Travis is actually having a flare up of UC right now. Please pray for him. We are trying to get an appointment with the specialist before him and Frank go to Greece. He is feeling very weak.

Any suggestions for our Christmas menu? So far we have duck, one pumpkin pie, two more dessert slots, not your mama's green bean casserole, and biscuits.

Love and grace, Kristin <3

P.S. the title of the blog is "wrestling" because I was reading about Jacob (aka Israel) wrestling with God in my devos this morning. I pray that I won't be so stubborn that God needs to break my hip...)

It's November...

First of all, I am glad to report that it is Christmas music season. No I don't wait until after Thanksgiving, because then I could never listen enough to my favorite Christmas music, and I need time to decide what will be on Christmas 2010.

We are in Vajta right now and things are weird. I think Travis said it best in response to my comment that we were just having a weird day. He responded, "It seems like extreme highs or extreme lows lately, it would be nice to just have a couple of in-between days." I couldn't agree more. It just seems weird being here because there are people you are excited to see and it doesn't seem like they are excited to see you. But we did get Travis' medicine, which was one of the big reasons we came. The Lord keeps providing for unseen circumstances, like Trav's pills costing almost $500. I think it's better just to let God provide for one thing at a time then to think He is providing for future things. Something new I'm learning. Hopefully tomorrow will be an in-between or high day because the low ones are getting hard to deal with.

Now to deal with a high, my FAVORITE Christmas song that was made recently (it makes me cry EVERY SINGLE time I hear it):
His Favorite Christmas Story by Capital Lights
if you can find it, please enjoy!

Welcome (back) to Europe!

Well, here we are in Hungary, as promised, and if you've ever heard anything about Sopron, it is probably right. BEAUTIFUL! I will post pictures as soon as we get around to taking them. We are on the tail end of fall, and the trees are losing their red and yellow leaves in mass. I need to take my camera out before all of them are gone. I love living somewhere that there are seasons! So far, weight loss from traveling and eating a Hungarian diet is about 3.5 kilos... my jeans are fitting better.

Here are two pictures, one of the girls in the airplane, and a experiment with shutter speed and photoshop's watercolor effect.
